| Simaran Kaur, who is currently seen as Riddhi Chotwani in Jamai No. 1, which is produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under their banner Studio LSD, says 2024 has been a good year for her, and she is hopeful that 2025 will be better than the passing year.
She said, “In 2024, I accomplished a variety of things. I did Tose Naina Milaike on Dangal, which was a superhit and nearly completed 500 episodes. My character received a lot of appreciation, had a unique fan base, and it was a wonderful experience. The audience connected deeply with my character, and I earned numerous accolades and praise. I didn’t know I could perform a comedy role, but it turned out to be very different, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
“Additionally, I had the opportunity to anchor the IPL, sharing the stage with cricket legends like Irfan Pathan, Siddhu Paji, and Mohammad Kaif, as well as international stars like Brian Lara and Steve Smith. It was a huge deal for me, and I learned so much from IPL, gaining immense exposure through the experience,” she added.
As luck would have it, by October, she grabbed her ongoing project, Jamai No. 1. “It made 2024 a year full of surprises. So in 2024, I worked on diverse projects and hope to carry the same positivity and success into 2025. 2024 has been an incredible year for me and I feel very fortunate that I get to do so many different things. I love exploring new opportunities and pushing my boundaries as an artist,” she said.
As for the biggest learning from 2024, on the professional front, she mentioned that it made her realize that there will always be ups and downs. She further said, “What truly matters is staying focused on your craft and believing in yourself, even during challenging times. Touch wood, there were no major setbacks, and everything happened one after the other.”
“I never shy away from challenges and enjoy learning new and different things. I aim to expand my capabilities and push myself harder to achieve even more in life,” she added.
New Year’s plan and resolution? “My resolution for 2025 is to keep evolving—not just as an actor but also as a person, and I’m committed to bettering myself every day. I plan to spend time with my close ones. Being around family and friends is always special. But as we actors know, the show must go on, so I’ll probably be shooting during the New Year. I’m looking forward to welcoming 2025 with gratitude and positivity,” Simaran ended.
