Mumbai, 2nd June 2025

Sony BBC Earth is all set to captivate audiences this June with an exciting blend of thrilling survival sagas and impactful environmental storytelling. The channel is premiering the 11th season of Life Below Zero, showcasing human resilience in the Alaskan wilderness. That’s not it! There is an extensive programming line-up dedicated to Environment Day and Ocean Day, featuring a curated selection of documentaries that highlight our planet's ecological challenges and the inspiring efforts to preserve its delicate balance.

The new season of ‘Life Below Zero’ takes viewers on an immersive journey into Alaska's remote and challenging Arctic. It delves deep into the lives of individuals who master skills, tradition, and willpower to thrive. Premiering on 16th June, this season focuses more on survival, self-sufficiency, and the relationship between humans and nature. Each character adapts to the changing demands of life away from city comforts - from navigating perilous ice flows and hunting for sustenance to repairing homes battered by storms.

Transitioning from individual battles for survival, the channel extends its focus to the planet's broader challenges with a day-long Environment Day special programming on June 5. The content lineup sheds light on critical ecological issues, along with the conservation efforts undertaken. Viewers can explore the impact of melting ice with Frozen Planet II and Climate Change Ade on The Frontline and witness the ongoing struggle for preservation in Changing Planet I & II. Earth From Space helps provide a different perspective of life on our planet, and Planet Earth III introduces people to the courageous conservationists. The lineup also explores urban wildlife in Planet Earth II’s episode on cities and highlights critical environmental threats and stresses on humanity's essential role in Earth's recovery in Equator From The Air and Future of Nature.

Further deepening this commitment, Sony BBC Earth invites viewers on an exploration of the planet's vibrant, mysterious aquatic realms on June 8, Ocean Day. The line-up includes select episodes of shows such as Frozen Planet II, addressing climate change's impact on Arctic wildlife, Planet Earth I & III showcase marine life's astonishing adaptations and vital conservation efforts, and Blue Planet II explains why the ocean, Earth's largest habitat, is rapidly changing. It highlights the crucial role of global currents in A Perfect Planet, explores the overlooked heroes in Round Planet, and continues the aquatic journey with Frozen Planet I, Mammals, The Mating Game, The Green Planet, Life and Spy In The Ocean.

Experience the raw beauty of nature and the urgent stories shaping our planet’s future. Tune in to Sony BBC Earth for gripping tales of Arctic survival with the premiere of Life Below Zero Season 11 on June 16 at 10:00 PM, and special Earth and Ocean Day documentaries all day long on June 5 and 8.
